The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo, has disclosed that TOR is progressing steadily since its resumption of operations.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia programme, Mr Tameklo reaffirmed the NPA’s commitment to supporting TOR’s return to full and sustainable operations.
“The revival of TOR is a strategic national priority, and the Authority remains committed to providing the necessary regulatory support to ensure that operations resume in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner,” he said.
He further added that if the refinery continues its operations without any technical glitch, fuel prices will drop further. Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) resuming its refining operations, would also reduce Ghana’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products, stabilize fuel prices, and create more jobs in the industry.
This forms part of the president’s resetting agenda to ensure that Ghanaians are comfortable to go about their duties in a peaceful and safe manner.
TOR, Ghana’s only state-owned refinery, has faced operational setbacks over the years due to financial difficulties, equipment breakdowns, and management issues. However, there have been ongoing discussions about restructuring and securing investment to restore its refining capacity.
