Former Ashanti Regional communications director of the New Patriotic party Mr. Paul Yandoh has taken a swipe the Ashanti regional minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene for constantly teasing him ever since he lost elections for the ashanti regional secretary position of the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, the regional minister who happens to be his friend has made it a point to ridicule him anytime he gets the chance to discuss his matter both privately and publicly or even on the social media.
Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that instead of the regional minister focusing on his core mandate as the regional minister and making sure that the region is in good shape in terms of development, he is constantly ridiculing him for losing the regional secretary position of the party.
Dr. Amoakohene knows that i am the only one capable of matching him boot for boot in the region and so he seems very excited that i lost the election but what i can promise him that, i am going to work for Dr. Bawumia for him to become the next president of the country.
Ashanti region is the bane of the National Democratic Congress and that the likes of Dr. Amoakohene are excited when they know that i would have been a torn in their flesh when i had won the elections. However, he should not be excited yet because, i am going to use all my resources and whatever it takes to ensure that the NPP captures some of the seats the NPP lost to them in the past elections.
Paul Yandoh placed third in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Secretary contest after moving from his previous role as Regional Communications Officer to contest the position.
Yandoh polled 105 votes in the contest. Francis Adomako won the race with 492 votes, while Michael Amoah Awuku placed second with 331 votes.
Mr. Paul Yandoh’s candidacy attracted attention in the build-up to the election, particularly after Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene, a member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), publicly endorsed and campaigned for him on social media.
The cross-party show of support generated interest in the contest and Yandoh’s prospects among NPP delegates.
However, the results saw Adomako emerge as the clear winner, with Yandoh securing 105 of the valid votes cast.
Yandoh’s defeat rules him out of the new Ashanti Regional executive team, having opted to leave the Communications Officer position he previously held to contest the secretaryship.
